Keeping it Real
God Carries You, Mama! (+ Free Phone Wallpaper)
Hey friends,
As a slightly (ahem) “older” mom, I figured I should share some nuggets of truth with the mama who is just starting her journey of parenting. Not that I have it all figured out. I don’t. Not by a long shot.
But I do know one thing about this parenting gig—I need God in the throes of every day.
I shared these words with a mom friend just this morning to encourage her: “Just popping in to say you’re doing great – even if you feel like you’re a mess and that nothing is getting done. You’re keeping two little people fed and alive – and that’s a huge deal. But as women who love God, it’s such a relief to know that we’re not doing this alone. We have the strength of God to get us through overwhelming moments. We have the peace of God to get us through anxious moments. We have the rest He gives is during dog-tired moments. We have the joy He gives us in mundane moments. We have His always-there presence in those moments we feel alone. So hold tight to Him and let Him hold you in His enoughness. ”
I wrote something on the same lines for HerViewFromHome. Even if you’re a more “seasoned” mom, the truth is, we don’t have to try doing it alone when we have the wonderfully empowering option of depending on God through this journey of parenting. As always, please feel free to share it on social media so you can encourage a friend and let them know that they’re not alone. And that, yes, the laundry will get done. Eventually.
Friends, I’m also designing phone wallpapers to go with the articles I’m writing. Just a fun little giveaway to thank you for reading and subscribing. Download this on your phone and set it as your lock screen wallpaper. Let me know if this worked for you and if you’ll enjoy more wallpapers for your phone in the future 🙂
