As I kneel before you, Lord, I’m humbled that the King of the universe waits for me in this secret place. 

I don’t have the right to come, apart from the blood of Jesus who washes me clean. 

Purify my heart, O Lord. 

Plunge me in the cleaning flow.

Present me as blameless before the Father. 

Nothing in my hands I bring. Simply to the cross I cling.

Here I am, Lord. This is holy ground. Speak for Your servant listens.

Lord, I do not come to You out of duty, but out of desperation. Without You, I fall apart. I declare total dependence on You, and in that I delight.

As I wrestle with You in this sacred space, God, I won’t let go of You till You bless me and You mark me; till I leave with a holy limp. 

Teach me today to deny myself, take up my cross, and follow You. Rid me of myself. May I follow so closely behind You that I’m covered by the dust of my Rabbi’s sandals. 

Sanctify me that I will be a living sanctuary for You. Change me and conform me to the image of Jesus.

Do a deep work within me and a powerful work through me. 

Lord, at the end of each day and at the end of all my days, I long to hear You smile and say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me, use me, send me… for Your glory and Yours alone. Amen.

Hi friends,

If you’ve been following this blog, you know that I’ve been writing every week on this site for several years now.

As we drop off our son at college overseas, I plan to take some time off to simply sit in God’s presence without any deadlines or pressure, process a bunch of emotions, and allow Him to tend to my heart. I also plan to do a slight overhaul of the blog in terms of design and backend stuff. 

I’ll be back in about a month. I hope you’ll join me then for fresh content as I bring my little offering before God.

Meanwhile, please feel free to use this short liturgy I wrote about a year ago for my personal devotions. I hope you find these words helpful in your own prayer life.
