Keeping it Real
A Prayer for Part Two of 2026
The start of the second half of the year is the perfect time for a reset, don’t you think?
The first six months may have rushed by faster than a kid on a sugar high doing zoomies. You may feel like absolutely nothing went according to plan.
As for the next six months? I’d like to tell you that you’ve got this. But yeah, there are zero guarantees for the second half of the year either. (Sorry, don’t mean to be a party pooper).
But the fact is, our days don’t come with a money-back guarantee if they don’t work out the way we assumed they would. We can’t get the deposit back for January to June. There are no refunds. And no re-dos.
But here’s something we can do: we can make a payment toward part two. Not an investment of money, but one of prayer.
If, like me, you’re feeling anxious about the unknowns, if you’re unsure of how to navigate the challenges, if what lies ahead seems unnervingly daunting, know this: He’s got you. And He’s not going to let go.
Would you join me in prayer for the second half of 2026?
Heavenly Father,
The days have raced by. Six months have felt like a fleeting moment. In Your book, a thousand years is a day. So maybe I’m finally learning “God math.” Yeah, I know that’s not a thing. But, Lord, I don’t want to spend the next six months without counting each day — each moment — as a gift from You.
Where my attention has drifted to things not of You, Lord, re-focus my gaze upon You.
Where my priorities have become muddled, Lord, realign my heart to Yours.
Where my passion has dimmed and I’ve been lulled into lukewarmness, Lord, re-ignite the flame.
Where my thoughts have conformed to culture, Lord, renew my mind
Where my excuses have become insistent and my obedience indifferent, Lord, restore my commitment to You.
Where I’ve grown apathetic to the needs around me, Lord, rekindle that burden for others.
Lord, may I remember that I am a new creation and may I walk in the resurrection power that is at work within me.
In this second half of the year, I long to walk closer to You.
Nothing else makes sense. Nothing else fills my heart. Nothing else will do.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen
